Ever heard of fax cover sheets? Fax Cover Sheets are sheets that are sent to your recipient prior to the actual fax message. The purpose of which is to identify the sender and to provide some necessary details about the fax like, no. of pages the fax contains, whether it is urgent or not and to whom it is sent.
Making a fax cover sheet is as easy as making a simple document. There are many different fax cover sheet templates available online which can be used for this purpose. Because some fax messages contain confidential information. The cover sheets for such fax messages are different. Some contain a Bold lettered word “Confidential” on the very top. Others contain a small disclaimers saying that the message is intended for the use of the person to which it is addressed, and may contain information, the disclosure of which is governed by applicable law.
Whether or not to use fax cover sheet? Business people differ in their opinion of whether or not to use a fax cover sheet. Some prefer using it with every fax message they send as it makes the fax immediately identifiable and secure. Others think it is an unnecessary practice as the fax itself contains the identification details and an exceptional sheet should not be added. Using a fax cover sheet for confidential messages is however always recommended.
